Firefighting involves a variety of dangers- to protect against these clothing must provide a number of different performance properties.

Fire fighting protective clothing has already come a long way, from the leather jacket to the modern materials fire fighting clothing is made of.

Thermal hazards include dose from incidental flame contact and exposure to heat. Fire fighting protective clothing is also being called on to keep firefighters dry an to minimize contact with chemicals that are at the fire scene , as well as blood or body fluids involved in rescue activities.

The minimum performance criteria for firefighter protective clothing is governed by European Norm (EN) 469. This standard contains specific tests and the minimum results acceptable for firefighter protection.

All of ours protective clothing has EN 469.
