THE RESCUE OF A DOG FROM THE RIVER SAVA
On the evening of May 22nd 2005, a woman
took her dog for a walk that ended with a cry for
help. The playful dog ended up in the river Sava
near the Mladost Bridge and his owner was unable to
bring him out of the river herself so she called the
firemen to help her. The firemen of the 3rd
shift of the F. S. Novi Zagreb responded and rescued
the dog (breed – boxer). The dog was in the water
for more than 20 minutes but was not injured. This
is only one of citizen’s calls to which firemen are
obligated to respond and not only (as most people
think) those relating to fires.
